To upload an image, within the "Add a Message" box, type the following:
description can be anything you want. This text will be used as the alternate text for the image (for those without an image-capable browser) and will also be used to identify the image for you when you are prompted to upload it. When you have composed your message, proceed to post your message as usual, which means submitting for preview AND submitting for final posting. In the preview, you will see a placeholder that says Your Image Here. Click Post Message. THEN you will get another screen that prompts you to navigate to the image in your computer. Photos should be no more than about 500 pixels wide, at about 72 pixels per inch. Here are the steps in summary of above: 1. Compose message and include the image text above. 2. Click Preview/Post Message. 3. In the next screen, click Post this Message. 4. In the next screen, browse to the photo in your computer and click upload. Be sure you use the upper case brackets as in the image above. These are next to the "p" on your keyboard. IMPORTANT NOTE: Image uploading works ONLY when you are posting a new message. Image uploading does NOT work when you are editing a post, entering an Announcement or About Message, specifying the name of a subtopic, etc. If you attempt to use image uploading in one of these situations where it is not supported, you will either receive an error message that the image{} formatting tag is not defined, or you will see the temporary placeholder icon but you will not be prompted to upload an image. Here is an example of an image following the text in a post:

This photo was taken at Marilee Berg's birthday party at Howe grade school. Pictured are Suzanne Sloan, Eileen Pennertz, Mary Miller, Peggy Hansen and Marcia Scanlon. The lone boy is Marilee's brother Bruce. Recognize any of them? Don't know who the others are. Anyone out there know? |
