Yesterday's reunion could not have been better. The organizing committee did a great job in picking a place, a time and a program. The site, Bruce and JoAnn Jorgensen's hangar, was big enough to allow easy conversations and small enough to be able to see everyone who was there. The hangar made it feel like we were in somebody's giant porch or deck. Starting it in the afternoon made the reunion feel more welcoming. The program was just what a program should be- entertaining and short. Not having a bar allowed everyone to be more genuine. My wife and I are both retired and have read about how important it is for people like us, now that we don't have contact with the public and co-workers every day, to build new and reestablish old friendships. The reunion helped build on the reestablishment part. I would have like to have reestablished a few more of those old friendships last night, but a lot of people left before I could reach them. Maybe they saw me coming. Next time, let's figure out a way to block the roads leading out of the airport. The Jorgensens were very gracious and generous to offer their hangar for the reunion and the reunion committee deserves everyone's thanks for the absolutely perfect job of organizing this memorable event. Thanks again for everything. Wes Skoglund |

Joni and I would like to thank all of the classmates and spouses who participated in planning, setting up, and cleaning up. It made it very easy for us. All the feedback we received was very positive. After the reunion was over we received several very nice “e” mails. The consensus of the committee was to keep it simple. Keep the cost down. Keep the distractions at a minimum. The committee can be congratulated for having the foresight to know what people would like. We were in Florida for most of the planning sessions….so all the credit goes to the other committee members. We had only three short years together in High School yet the friendships that we established have lasted a lifetime. It seems like it is always easy to get a group of people from high school together. In the past all we seem to have to do is mention that we are going to get together a "half hour ago"…and most people we call will come and will be there on time. We are considering doing an informal annual event at the hanger. If you have any interest in participating in an annual event, please send your “e” mail address to info@brucejorgensen.com We would also like to thank all the attendees who made the day a fun time. It is always a fun and memorable experience for me. It is the memories in life that will stick with us forever….we do have some great memories from last Saturday’s event. |
